Our universe is a dynamic web of evolving systems—both continuous and ordered, yet inherently chaotic. Within this ever-changing dance of energy, infinite possibilities emerge, reflecting and refracting one another in a constant state of creation and destruction. From the treelike branches of neuronal dendrites to the delicate formation of crystalline ice on a windowpane, every form we encounter invites us to experience countless others. This interplay creates a ripple effect—a complex spiderweb of understanding that reveals the profound interconnectedness of all things.
Like the natural world, humans, too, are part of a vast, fractal-like pattern: birth, growth, decay, and rebirth—repeating infinitely. This beautiful cycle manifests in everything, from the returning seasons that are never the same, to the rise and fall of cultures, each one giving way to the next in a continuous flow of creation and fading. Even the smallest organisms, such as a fiddleback fern unfurling its tendrils, reveal versions of the larger forms around them—always unique, yet always rooted in a constant, cyclical process. It is inevitable. It is the natural way of life.
My studio practice is grounded in the spirit of playful exploration, where meaning, imagination, and experience are nurtured. Informed by my surroundings, I spend much of my time outdoors, looking and observing. The expansive landscape itself becomes both muse and palette, with the mist of magenta mornings inspiring a rich array of colors and textures.
My current work is deeply informed by the natural formations of Northwest Texas and the High Plains of the American West, drawing inspiration from phenomena such as tumbleweeds, tornadoes, and the intricate webs of brown recluse spiders. These organic patterns—seemingly chaotic yet deeply interconnected—serve as the foundation for my creative process. Through my work, I explore and layer these forms, weaving together a tapestry of natural structures that reflect the interconnectedness of life.
I create pieces that invite new physical experiences for both myself and the viewer. My practice spans a variety of mediums, from heavily layered drawings on paper to intricate, alternative-process paintings on panel. I also explore ephemeral forms and reflective metal sculptures that spin and shift in response to their environment. The incorporation of traditional, digital, and sculptural fabrication methods allows me to push the boundaries of innovation and experiment with new ways to embody the fluidity of life and nature in my work.
